Continents 7

Continents Seven is a series of seven major open water swims that is completed within one year in all of the seven continents of Planet Earth: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Oceania, Europe, North America, and South America. It was first coined by Steven Munatones and Diego López Dominguez in 2017, and first completed by the latter in 2018.

The list of my swims during 2018 is as follows (where the seven swims counting towards the Continents Seven are bolded):
  • ✅ Jan 28 - Swim for Haiti (West Province, Haiti) - 10.0 K (1st overall)
  •  Feb 10 - USWSA Nationals (Coney Island NY, USA) - 100 and 200 Free in 1C waters (1st overall)
  • ✅ Mar 10 - Sand to Surf (Auckland, New Zealand) - 2.6 K - OCEANIA (1st AG, 3rd overall)
  • ✅ Mar 17 - Port to Pub (Perth WA, Australia) - 25.0 K (completed 12K before it was canceled due to treacherous conditions)
  • ✅ Apr 14 - Swim Around Lido Key (Sarasota FL, USA) - 11.3 K (3rd overall, ex-aequo)
  • ✅ Apr 21 - Freedom Swim from Robben Island (Cape Town, ZA) - 7.5 K - AFRICA (5th overall)
  • ✅ Apr 28 - SCAR Swim - Stage 4 Roosevelt Lake (Mesa AZ, USA) - 10.0 K (1st overall)
  • ✅ May 12 - Lake Titicaca (Copacabana, Bolivia) - 7.5 K - SOUTH AMERICA (1st skins)
  • ✅ Jun 2 - 2 Bridges (Poughkeepsie NY, USA) - 5.0 K (2nd overall)
  • ✅ Jun 16 - END-WET (Grand Forks ND/MN, USA) - 58.0 K (5th overall, 2nd male)
  • ✅ Jun 24 - 8 Bridges - Stage 5 Bear Mt. to Tappan Zee (NY, USA) - 32.0 K (1st overall)
  • ✅ Jul 7 - English Channel (Dover, England to Calais, France) - 34.0 K - EUROPE (11h04')
  • ✅ July 22 - Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swim (Turkey from Asia to Europe) - 7.5 K (1h06')
  • ✅ Aug 16 - Catalina Channel (Catalina Island CA, USA) - 34.0 K - NORTH AMERICA (11h12')
  •  Sept 16 - Spuyten Duyvil (New York NY, USA) - 10.5 K (2nd overall)
  •  Oct 6 - Clean Half Marathon Swim (Hong Kong SAR China) - 15.0 K - ASIA (1st overall)
  •  Nov 20 - IISA Ice KM Swim event in Antarctica - 1.0 K - ANTARCTICA (3rd overall)
That makes a total of 256 K in 17 open water swims in 10 different countries in the seven continents.
